Several theories about human visual perception exit. In this report the possibility of implementation (in a computer language) has been a precondition for discussing theories and models. This means that the theories to be discussed should give the computational mechanisms underlying the phenomena covered. In the discussion of the literature the path from the light entering the eye to the three dimensional representations in the cortex is followed. Three major theories on the integration of features into visual objects are discussed. The necessary processes and representations for handling stereotypes are discussed in chapter 4. The last chapter concentrates on the implementation of the presented constituent parts of the visual system.
