Author(s)
LUTHER, MD
Abstract

Basic information about silica fume (microsilica), portland cement-based materials containing silica fume, and the use of these materials in the repair of structures is reviewed in this paper. Information is presented about high-performance (strength in excess of 20, 000 psi) repair materials containing silica fume. Various applications are discussed, including those involving grout, underwater concrete, shotcrete, and concrete repairs. This paper appears in transportation research board record no. 1284, Cement, admixtures, and concrete 1990.
