Abstract

Transportation trends are shaped by public needs and settlement patterns. The development of suburban lands and the spread of the population to the areas surrounding large areas is a predominant force. Highways must be improved to accommodate for seen increased transportation in the forms of personal travel, freight transportation, and public bus transportation. Coordination with air and rail transportation is envisioned and environmental factors considered throughout planning and development.
