Abstract
This booklet is aimed to assist local authorities in the provision of roadside facilities that are of a sufficient standard to ensure both the continuation and development of good quality, local bus services. Police forces and those concerned with parking enforcement will also find its contents helpful in assessing their priorities. The publication is, however, not a technical manual but endeavours to give all those involved in both highway design as well as general decision making, a sound briefing on the issues involved.
