Abstract

Awareness of factors affecting light trespass issues and their potential solutions is desirable for urban highway lighting and land use design. In order to overcome the information gap that currently exists on the acceptability of light trespass by neighbors of urban highways, a study was conducted in Ottawa, Canada, and spillover light (luminance) was measured near the properties and buildings affected. Study results and their affect on both residents and businesses are detailed. (Author/Publisher)
