Abstract

The levels of service ratings used in Canada are outlined and the anticipated low levels of service predicted for 1986 in the Fraser Canyon Section are shown. This provides reasoning for the need of the New Coquihalla Route now under construction through the coast mountains. The intention is to protect the wildlife habitat, retain the wilderness environment and to protect and replace human settlement and employment on or near to the highway construction.
