Abstract

There are } 34,000 railway crossings in Canada of which 2,800 have been grade separated, 6,200 have been fitted with automatic protection, 23,000 with only reflectorized and 1,600 with standard crossing signs. The means and their costs by which hazards may be eliminated or decreased are discussed.
