Abstract
This volume provides guidelines for a properly planned and administered vehicle inspection program. Some specific objectives of the program are a.o. To establish acceptable standards of safety with respect to the operating condition of vehicles, to establish criteria for the operation of inspection stations; to provide for the periodic inspection of all vehicles registered for use on public highways to ensure compliance with safety standards. In appendices a standard for motor vehicle inspection is given, and some literature references are included.
