Abstract
Part I presents statistics of the road vehicle fleet in Great Britain, thereby showing the number of motor vehicles which were registered during the year. The vehicle mileage performed by the vehicle fleet is shown by the traffic statistics in part II, and in part III the miles of roads are listed together with the expenditure which the central government and local authorities incur in maintaining and improving existing roads, and in building new ones. Part IV presents data on passenger and freight transport.
