Abstract

Highway planning is discussed from the aspect of highway contributions to outdoor recreation. Easement acquisition must be used along recreational roads to protect scenic beauty. It is recommended that federal funds must be allocated for a system op parks and camping grounds to be build in coordination with the interstate highway program. Recreational areas, both public and private, are a vital part of the economic health of a region.
