Abstract

With the introduction of telematics in road traffic, see e.g. the EC's DRIVE- program, the design of freeway interchanges has to be adapted. Especially one lane ramps and cloverleaf weaving ramps will become bottlenecks when much route- changing will be generated by telematics. Possible solutions are mentioned; a study for their economical and technical feasibility is recommended.
