Abstract

This communication compares drinking patterns of drivers, passengers and pedestrians killed during the Christmas season with those of persons who died as a result of highway crashes during other winter months to determine what associations exist between the frequent social drinking that occurs during this holiday period and the pattern of highway fatalities.
