Abstract

The leisure travel study finds that international holiday traffic must be considered as part of a broader issue of leisure and is related to general mobility. Data on transit flows and their modal split is complicated by the influence of political and economic developments. Such studies must consider the effect of an increasing number of short stay holidays producing high traffic peaks.
