The transport committee has held an inquiry into road safety. In addition to the papers submitted by witnesses in connection with their oral evidence, the committee has received a large memorandum from other interested organizations and individuals. These memoranda are published here in full. The inquiry was focused on the following items: standards of vehicle construction, periodical vehicle inspection, standards of driver training, motorcycle training, pedal cycle, training, road lighting, speed limits, drinking and driving, carriageway marking enforcement and dangerous parking.
