Abstract

During the two year joint research programme on public transport systems in Indian cities carried out April 1978- April 1980, the transport and road research laboratory (TRRL) and the association of state road transport undertakings (ASRTU) team undertook household surveys in two contrasting socioeconomic areas of Delhi. Data were obtained from household members in each colony of the socioeconomic characteristics of households together with data on the supply of and demand for public transport services.
