Abstract

This study investigated the completeness of official North Carolina driver records in terms of recordable and nonrecordable crashes and the extent of reporting biases in terms of driver and/or crash characteristics. Recording rates found in this study are: considerably higher than those reported in the literature for other states. It appears that the driver file in North Carolina may be fairly complete in terms of including reportable crashes.
