Abstract

Some of the most common motor vehicle emergency situations are described, with information on how they can be handled. The booklet is intended primarily for drivers relatively inexperienced in coping with emergency malfunctions in their vehicles. The first rule of crash avoidance is to keep a vehicle in safe running condition; tips are given on daily and weekly/monthly checkups, and periodic servicing. Precautions to observe when stopping on the highway are outlined. The emergency situations are individually considered.
