Abstract

This paper gives an overview of the safety policy practised by the chemicals company DuPont UK Ltd. Company standards express a commitment to conduct business with respect and care for safety, health and the environment. Core values are safety and health, respect for people, ethics, and environmental protection. The RHYTHM programme manages the safety aspects of product distribution and includes best practice implementation, in-house training and incident investigation. An incident and emergency response system, DUCHEM HELP, provides a simple and effective procedure for handling after-sales incidents. DGQuest software produces a compliance checklist for any individual load, covering dangerous goods regulations. The safety programme includes audits, both internal and to external standards. For the covering abstract see ITRD E118917.
