Abstract

How to turn a 3-point inertia belt into a passive seat-belt system is discussed. It would be possible to use existing seat-belt systems to cope with future requirements for occupant restraints and that therefore existing anchor points could be used. A prototype, which met all the objectives, is developed and discussed.
