Human factors guidelines for advanced traffic management center design.

Abstract

This paper briefly presents the work carried out at Georgia Institute of Technology into producing "human factors" design guidelines for advanced traffic management centres. The issues which need to be addressed include: a) equipment configuration issues, such as the camera controls, and audio display design; b) job design issues such as the assignment of responsibility; and c) human-machine performance issues.
