Abstract

The ubiquitous nature of transport signs on roadways, railways, and in airports can lead to an overload of visual information and yet limited research has been done to understand the design of such signs from a driver's perspective. This book explores key transport sign research and examines new technologies that are revolutionizing signaling. The purpose of this book is to help ensure that signs increase transport safety and alleviate traffic confusion.
