Abstract

A brief review of the complex subject of human injury mechanisms and impact tolerance is given. Automotive accident-related injury patterns are briefly discussed and the status of knowledge in the biomechanics of trauma concerning the head, neck, chest, abdomen, and extremities is discussed.
