Abstract

From 2000 to 2012, the number of killed or seriously injured road users in Norway was greatly reduced. This report identifies some of the factors that contributed to this reduction. The two most important factors were that cars have become safer and that the mean speed of traffic was reduced. There was a particularly great reduction of the number of killed or seriously injured children, young drivers and riders of moped and motorcycles. (Author/publisher)
