Abstract

Efficient transportation is a concern to all. Volvo, as one of the leading manufacturers of heavy transportation solutions, has taken its responsibility to reduce the climate impact of its products by developing energy-efficient products like hybrid heavy vehicles. In HAVEit (Highly Automated Vehicles for Intelligent Transport), a running European Union project, Volvo is pushing the current state-of-the art hybrid powertrain solutions to the next level, paving the way for more fuel efficient transportations and sustainable mobility. This will be achieved by optimization techniques, drive cycle predictions based on several perception sensors, and guidance todrive more efficiently.
