Abstract

I'm too sexy for my car, mobility and sexuality This paper gives a brief insight in the relation between mobility and sexuality. Especially the relation between sexuality and the car is described. Men and women have a totally different emotional perception if looking at or using a car. For men, a car is important for their own ego. For women, a car is an essential symbol a freedom and a simple way of transportation. This generates opportunities when trying to define new transport policies aimed at stimulating the use of alternative means of transportation like bikes and busses. Nonetheless this needs a change in human behaviour, especially of men, because they must realise they will never be “too sexy for their car". (Author/publisher)
