Abstract

One of the most vital elements in driver safety is the ability to see objects at night. The measurement of night- time visibility has been the object of physical and psychological studies in various countries. A new light- measuring device, MELUSIN, based on the processing of pictures taken with the help of a CCD- camera is developed by LCPC in France. It is intended principally for studying urban scenes at night with street lighting.
