Impact attenuating and redirectionalizing safety barriers.

Abstract

Two specific highway features have been recognised for their potential hazards: the gore area of exit ramps and median bridge piers. Test are being done with Hi-dro cushion cells, guardrail and a new concept using raised earth mounds. The results are described.
