Abstract

Levels of the impacts of transportation systems on the welfare of a region are reviewed. The level of convenience, safety, and cost to the collective users of the transportation system are important. The impact of the transportation system on the choices available to both residents and businesses regarding consumption and production in the metropolitan area needs specific analysis.
