Abstract

The development of a Canadian automobile accident profile is described. The profile was established by conducting a nation wide survey of accident damaged vehicles. From photographs each vehicle was assigned a "Collision Deformation Code" describing the accident induced damage. The limitations of each of the profiles derived from the sample are discussed, just as further attempts to improve the reliability of the sample at the severe end of the accident spectrum.
