Abstract

Figures described in this paper indicate that more concern for effective protection of children against abrupt impact trauma is necessary. A child is often considered able to survive impacts which would be lethal to adults, yet his unique structure while more elastic is considerably more fragile and provides very little protection to vulnerable internal organs.
