The impact of minimum drinking age laws on fatal crash involvements. An update of the NHTSA analysis.

Abstract

This report updates an analysis of the effectiveness of Minimum Drinking Age Laws in preventing traffic fatalities among affected age groups originally performed by NHTSA in 1985. The original analysis utilized fatal accident data in thirteen states to conclude that Minimum Drinking Age Laws were responsible for a 13 % reduction in fatal accident involvements involving affected drivers.
