Abstract

In this paper it is attempted to describe some of the problems and constraints which will be faced by road builders in Australia, with heavy emphasis on the inescapable fact that good road systems are fundamental to the operation of all modes of transport, as they stimulate development and are vitally necessary for the economic wellbeing of any country. There is for example, an absolute necessity for more publicly funded research and development projects to be provided for goods movements.
