Abstract

The study aims to investigate the effects of transport policies consisting of changes in the transport cost supported by the users, for public transport and/or private car. Scenarios combining both following measures will be tested: (a) road pricing on all the main roads penetrating into the Brussels-Capital Region and (b) changes in the public transport fares, especially in the rail fares. Two different philosophies of road pricing are examined: (a) tolling implementation at the entrance of the city and (b) tolling or distance charging on the orbital motorway.
