Abstract

The aims of the scheme are to reduce traffic speeds and through traffic volumes and to provide a much safer and more pleasant living environment. The treatments placed are conventional ones such as roundabouts and new types such as angled single lane, angled double lane, driveway link, driveway entry, entry divider, road humps and intersection remodel. The majority of residents are in favour of the various types of treatments and favour their retention. Non-resident drivers are in favour of roundabouts and road humps but not of other treatments to the same extent.
