Abstract

A driving test developed jointly by the traffic safety centre of Michigan State University and Michigan Department of State was introduced in one city in New Zealand. The role of a driving test in the learner- licensing driver system is examined. A test's impact of driver training offers the greatest potential for improving young driver's skills. An evaluation of the influence of this test on driver training is being undertaken.
