Abstract

The duties of the Swedish National Road Administration (SNRA) can be divided into four main areas, based on the responsibilities placed on it by the Government: sector responsibilities, role as a public authority, national road management and production. The SNRA shall within its duties stimulate the demand for road informatics. One way of doing this is to develop regulations and supporting documents. During spring 1998 an investigation was done to examine the needs for documents within the SNRA. The idea is that road informatics shall as far as possible be assessed on the same terms as other instruments of the transport system. The aim with supporting documents for road informatics is to involve them in the traditional system. (A*)
