The implementation of road privatization in Indonesia.

Abstract

The opening of 3.50 kilometers long of tollroad in Jakarta in 1989 was marked as a beginning of road privatization in Indonesia. The length of tollroad in Indonesia is approximately 450 kilometers in 1995 which 25% of it is financed and built by private investors. There are some problems which arose in implementing road privatization in Indonesia which can be classified as technical, financial and legal problems. Some efforts have been done to minimize the problems, through the result is not so satisfied in order to speed up the implementation of road privatization. A description of this paper. (A)
