Abstract

These proceedings represent a landmark in change in the safety community's concept of providing a safe highway transportation system. Safe and efficient highway transportation requires solutions to complex problems demanding the compatible bending of several diverse disciplines. Some safety improvement could be identified and packaged in a project by using known design standards and technology. Many other improvements had to undergo rasetrol, testing and evaluation, primarily by the States and federal government.
