Abstract

In assessing the problem of vehicle instability it is necessary to consider records of accidents. This paper includes details of accidents which were studied 'on-the-spot' by a team of investigators, police records of accidents and the record of accident on M1. It is concluded that non-looking brakes and better tyre adhesion might have prevented many of these accidents, particularly those occurring on wet roads.
