Abstract

The influence of motorways on regional economics is discussed. Each time motorways have been added to other economic development factors, they have not remained neutral in the accelerated economic progress and more intense social development of the population concerned. But motorways have never been intended - in themselves - to recoup the secular, economic and social backwardness of the less developed areas of a country.
