Abstract

In 2005, a pilot version of a joint web service application for information exchange and cooperation between the Traffic Management Center, Emergency Rescue Services, the Police and the Emergency Call Center was launched in the Stockholm area. Now in 2009 the solution is on the way to be implemented and operational nationwide in Sweden. The web application helps the operational staff at the control centers to get a common and joint overview of the situation in their area. More efficient exchange of information results in a faster, better and more cost effective response to incidents and emergency situations.
