Abstract

Computer simulation techniques are used to design and evaluate the performance of signal- controlled roundabouts. The work described in this paper forms part of a research project which aims at developing a unified framework for the design and evaluation of signals for heavily- trafficked roundabouts. The work adopts a system- oriented approach whereby the basic factors which affect the signal designs are built into fundamental equations.
