Abstract

The use of a method for evaluating road improvement priorities is described. The results obtained are a function of road geometrics, traffic characteristics and topographic features. In the first part the method of improvement priority assessment is outlined. In the second part the procedure is applied to South Africa's national roads network and the last part the inferences drawn from the results are summarized.
