Abstract

The quality of service offered to users of the urban and suburban railway system depends upon numerous parameters. One of the main problems facing urban public transport enterprises, is the improvement of service quality at lower cost. Studies made on the underground railway line near Paris deal with (1) minimizing the time as soon as the train frequency increases; and (2) make the best use of the given theoretical transport capacity.
