Abstract

The authors report that most motorist overdrive their headlights on rural highways, and they discuss means of which night visibility can be improved. The conclude that a polarized headlighting system offers the most promise in terms of technical and economic feasibility. Discussions of the paper by recognized authorities are included along with the author's closure. (See also A 7069 for preprint of the paper).
