Abstract

Recently IVC (Inter Vehicle Communication) is one of the most important research topics in ITS (Intelligent Transport Systems). Especially, much attention is being paid to the applications using the DS/SS (Direct Sequence/Spread Spectrum) communication in IVC. The DS/SS scheme is very advantageous for reducing the interference between vehicles in the network by using CDMA (Code Division Multiple Access) combined with the protocol that allocates the PN (Pseudo Noise) code to each vehicle efficiently. In this paper, the DS/SS IVC system using DOLPIN for a packet composition is proposed and its performance is evaluated. The MMSE adaptive array antenna is also applied in order to improve the reception characteristic degraded by near-far problem and PN code interference. The reception characteristic is evaluated by using the LMS algorithm, and the effectiveness of the proposed system is shown. For the covering abstract see ITRD E134653.
