Abstract

In this study, attention was focused on the alarming frequency of erratic driver behaviour at freeway exit gore areas. The driver's confusion and indecision (causation factor) did not manifest itself until the occurrence of the erratic manoeuver in the gore area. Hence, in considering remedial devices, information sources (signing and delineation) in advance of the exit were analyzed.
