Abstract

The pressure wave associated with the road train passing problem is discussed. Model testing methods with a special rig allowing-relative motion between two models and in the wind tunnel with static models are described. It is shown that the transient aerodynamic effects can be plotted on a pressure-distance diagram which is typical of the particular train configuration tested.
