Abstract

This paper presents statistical data on traffic accidents with regard to participation in traffic, age, type of injury and time of an accident occurrence. Two groups of road users involved in road accidents are studied: group I forms cyclists, moped riders and motorcyclists with pillion passengers; group II forms drivers of motor vehicles (car drivers, lorry, bus and tractor drivers), passengers and pedestrians. It points to a large proportion of young people between 21 and 25 years of age who are either victims of a traffic accident or who are responsible for its occurrence. The first group of road users, especially cyclists prevail both as a cause or as victims of a traffic accident.
