Abstract

A fundamental study has been conducted with regard to the possibility of realizing information provision service on near misses. This would monitorhazardous phenomena broadly from linear/planar perspective, utilizing probe information showing vehicle behaviour, collected through on-board devices rather than sensors placed by the roadside. Specifically, this report presents experimental results on the data analysis of vehicles behaviour during sudden deceleration, abrupt steering and lane changing, which are considered to be phenomena indicating hazardous vehicle behaviour.
